I attended the meeting and it seems that:

The incinerator can only be fought on a technical planning legality.
It is pointless to argue the health/enrionvmental/economic impacts - the only thing that can quash it aare legalty planning issues.

There are some documents which are of importance for this:

Apparantly back in 2006, un beknown to the public, a meeting was held between a few councillors to decide on the best solution for Devons waste.

After EU iniatives landfill became costly and it was decided, without public consult, that an incinerator was the best solution.

This was 3 years ago.
Technology, economy and recycling have changed.

The documents surrounding the decision have been erased, surprise surprise.

However there are still techincal issue which need to be addressed in the planning, which could get he whole decision of an incinerator overturned.

Unfortunately the legal jargon that these douments are written are foreign to me, however if anyone has a good head for understanding this sort of thing then it would be great if you could lend a hand.
I know that Save Our South Hams are trying to look into the same thing. So if we can join forces and perhaps delegate a document for one person and a document for another or something like that?

News report on the meeting headline MP: 'Incinerator should be in Devonport'

IS this what it has come to, not in my backyard, but in someone elses?
The air is gaseous, as in it moves around and will travel accross most of Devon. Therefore the poisons this thing produce will fall onto all of us regardless of it's location.
The pollution into the river, feeds the sea we all swim in and our children will swim in.

The rubbish will be shipped in from all over the world so Viridor can make lots of money at the expense of our health.
Have Plymouth Primary Care Trust been consulted, becuase this will cost them a fortune over the next few decades.

It is a very sad day when people cannot unite and stand together.
