After attending the meeting held by Gary Streeter on Monday 14th December I have been left reflecting on the comment he made about the national papers would
have no interest in our fight against the incinerator. I am starting to believe, after looking around the internet and from talking to people I know around the country that many communities are fighting against incinerators.
This morning I am watching the TV and Gordon Brown is talking from the Copenhagen Climate talks about how he is going to do everything to reduce climate change
This got me to thinking...Our PM is fighting climate change on a Global level yet I am hearing my local MP say that we cant fight against all incinerators just fight against having it too close.
When looking at the number 10 site I can see 4 petitions regarding incinerators http://search.petitions.number10.gov.uk/kbroker/number10/petitions/search.lsim?ha=1157&sc=number10&qt=incinerators
Perhaps its time we proved we are not a bunch of NIMBY's and start to connect with other groups and show a united front we do not want Incinerators at all!!!!!
I wondered what other people thought about this- Do you believe this is just a local issue or do you feel that it effects us all.
Heard On GMTV this morning
"the work in Copenhagen is vital"
"Get the environment issue away from the stratosphere and back to the streets" - I agree. |
